Louise brings more than 40 years of experience across family law, child and adolescent mental health, family relationships, mediation and clinical practice. She approaches each referral with care, curiosity and impartiality, recognising that every family’s circumstances are different.
About Louise
Louise Anne Salmon is an experienced social worker, Single Expert Witness, Child and Family Consultant, Accredited Mental Health Social Worker and Professional Supervisor.
From 2009 to 2019, Louise worked as a Family Consultant and later Senior Family Consultant (now Child Court Expert) with the Family Court and Federal Circuit Court of Australia. She established her independent consulting practice in 2019.
Her earlier career included roles in child and family mental health services, community mental health, mediation, parenting education and counselling and rehabilitation. She has also contributed to national advisory and consultative work in children’s mental health, psychiatry policy and family violence committee work.
Louise has presented at national and international conferences on a range of topics related to social work, Child Court Experts in the family courts, trauma-informed practice, child and perinatal mental health, and the intersection of mental health and family law.
